Write the way YOU want to write.

by Alex Gherman
(Kirkland, WA)

Just because other authors do their scenes like this or like that doesn't mean you have to make your scenes like that. Just because other authors start their interesting part of their stories at page 100, does't mean you can't start yours at page 67. Do something original, and don't copy other writers. It's helpful to just think how you want your story to be. Now, the story can't be too fast paced, because then the reader feels that everything is blurred and confusing. You can't go too slow either, because then your story is boring if you write a whole chapter about the main character eating a piece of toast. Just be original.
