To Write Well
Think Outside The Box

by Leena
(Waldorf, Maryland, U.S.A.)

Being a good writer means you allow yourself to get outside of your comfort zone. Switch up your main characters and learn something new. If you're used to writing in the point of view of a female, write something in which a male is the one speaking. You'll find out how flexible your style is and see what works for you. Not having any experience shouldn't be an excuse because there's always research to be done. Once you see all that you can do, your writing will become an even bigger sanctuary to you -- one where you're not limited by what you're used to doing.
