Push Procrastination Off The Cliff

by Dan Eidson
(Ozark mountains of Arkansas)

How do you stop your procrastination about writing? Plain and simple...you put it off.

I can come up with a handful of things I need to be doing around the house besides writing. Yet when I feel inspiration and creativity flowing through, lightning could be striking so loud my ears are flashing with the thunder. When focused I flat out refuse to let those writing veins stop bleeding on to the page.

We all have days that get in the way of our writing time. It is amazing however, with a little practice, how much writing you can accomplish despite the woes of distraction falling all around you.

Have you ever allowed yourself to sit in busy cafe and free write? Coffee and buzz writing--what a combo.

Just close your eyes, take a breath and as you exhale count from 5 to 1, then say the word RELAX 5 times.

Happy writing--stop putting it off and start pouring it out.
