Keep a journal

by Emily Mead
(Sydney, New South Wales, Australia)

Seriously! It works! Try keeping a journal for, say, a year. Don't write boring stuff. Notice things. The colour of something, the taste of something. Try a food that you hate; an activity that bores you. If, like me, an idea for a story is hard to come by, try this tip. Don't limit yourself. Express. If you're mad, describe it. All of these things you can use in your writing, and should use in your writing.
