Grammar problems

by Martin
(Clinton, Md)

I have a HUGE problem with writing. My choice of words are poor, and my messages don't flow. I want to use the correct punctuation, but the English language has too many rules. Even though English is my first language, I never got it as a child. Now that I'm an adult, I feel stupid. Whenever I send a simple text, I spend so much time proof-reading what I wrote. Because I don't feel confident in what I write, I avoid texting. I know this message need several corrections.

Working on grammar

Hello, Martin.

You are not alone. Many people feel some degree of insecurity when writing. If this is something that you feel is hampering your life, check for classes in your neighbourhood. One of my friends, a native English speaker, took an English class for new Canadians and finally got a grip on things she had missed while in school.

I wish you the best as you take on new challenges.
