Give it a Rest!

by carolyn

Just as a choice piece of beef needs to rest a few minutes before being served, so goes the manuscript. When you have cooked up your story to near perfection, let it rest awhile. If, after a few weeks away from it, you still love every bit of it, let it rest some more. A bit of time away from the story line will often bring the flaws and weaknesses to the surface. Then you can trim away the excess fat and add the garnishes.
