Don't "Bunch together" writing

I find that adding extra blocks of text, like a story of a character's life during an action helps flesh out a character slowly:
The Character sees something which reminds him/her of a a time in the past-a childhood memory, for example, follow up that story, then return to the scene, it helps to flesh out both the character and your work.
