An evil villain-worthy motive

by Shawna

I was doing a whole bunch of plans for my story when decided I needed to give my bad guy an evil plan. All I needed for him to do was be evil enough to raise an army of vampires (well, I call them vampírí, it's a new sort of vampires I invented for my story) and get in the way of my protagonist. The plan I came up with involved the baddie stealing an amulet (with the powers that relate to my vampírí that I'll explain some other time) and my main characters trying to get it back. The only thing is, I need to give my villian a motive. As of now he wants to get the amulet so he can rule the world, but I want a different motive because almost all movies do this: e.g. in Harry Potter Voldemort want to massacure a whole bunch of muggles, kill Harry, and...take over the world. In Get Smart the bad guy (forget his name) wants to get a lot of money...blah, blah...and take over the world. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
