August 31, 2006
Hello,

It was during those summer months I wrote this book;
it seemed the only thing to do.

--Jerome K. Jerome

In this issue:
  1. $100 Web Site Sale
  2. New Web Site Is Launched
  3. New Editor's Blog
  4. New Articles On The Long Tail
  5. Kirby's Ocean Friend
==========

1. $100 Web Site Sale

A new $100 Web site sale will last until September 6. Buy one site at the regular price of US$299 and get the second site for only $100. I do NOT recommend starting off with two sites, but this is a great opportunity to share a site with a friend, splitting the cost of both between you, or to give a site as a gift. You owe it to yourself to consider the options available online.

2. New Web Site Is Launched

I have my own second site. Last month I told you I had chosen a topic. I invite you to visit retirementinvestigator.com. Starting a new site is like starting a new term in school -- exciting! And so much easier the second time around.

3. New Editor's Blog

Writer's Helper now has a blog. This spot on the Web site will usually consist of brief entries, often followed by a link. The Permalinks take you to a new page on Writer's Helper, so the blog is one way to stay up to date with changes on the site. This month there are many new pages. Check out the Permalinks.

You can even be alerted when I post something to the blog if you sign up for an RSS feed. If you don't know what an RSS feed is, go to the home page. On the left of the page, there is a box. If you click on the link that says, "What's an RSS feed?" you will access a good explanation.

4. New Articles On The Long Tail

One series of articles of importance discusses the marketing term The Long Tail and its special significance to writers, especially self-publishing writers. Start here and follow the links through all four sections.

5. Kirby's Ocean Friend Read a review of Kirby's Ocean Friend, a self-published children's book written to help children deal with loss.
